Third Class ‘Thoughts About School’ - December 2025
I like that I am allowed outside in the morning.
I love rounders and I like that I can go outside
at break. I’ve got new friends and I’ve read new
books. And I’ve got a new room and I’ve learned
more about fractions.

One thing I like about 3rd class is that the work is easy. It looks hard at first, but when you get the hang of it it’s easy. I can’t believe I know how to do multiplication! At first I thought it was hard but it turns out it is easy. I like the way we get to go outside every morning for exercise. I also like the workbooks like Maths, English and History. I also like the Meet the Scientist programme and that’s my favourite thing about school.

What I like about third class is the Art because it’s so much fun. And the Christmas performance too. I love my teacher. We read fun books in class like Demon Dentist. We get to go outside in the mornings and in the afternoons. This year we are in the senior end of the school. I get to see my friends every day. I am looking forward to the school tour because it’s always fun. I like to play with all of my friends on the new astro turf.

In my school we did Food Dudes programme. Literacy Lift Off too. I was involved in the Student Council. We also did swimming for 6 weeks. Fireguards came to do a talk and if your clothes are on fire you must stop, drop and roll. Their air tanks weigh 30kg!

Things I like about school are… getting to see my friends Monday to Friday; I like to play soccer with my friends on our breaks; I like how the staff let us use resources for subjects like Maths such as counters, lollipop sticks, etc. and finally, I like that sometimes we get visitors in the school like the fire service and the guards.

In September I loved doing all the movement breaks and getting to see all my friends. October I loved going on the nature walks and doing the planting outside. November I loved doing the webinars and talking about Halloween. December I am really excited for the Christmas concert! I really enjoyed the fire brigade coming in and I also loved using the hose and seeing the fire truck.

The thing I like about third class is that I get to do new work and I am on a new level of work. We get to go outside in the morning and afternoon. I like doing Art in third class because I like Art. I like Maths because it is my favourite thing to do. I like when we get to read new books.

Hello my name is Grace. I love 3rd class. But the things I love most of all is that; 1. We get homework passes on our birthdays. 2. Get to watch movies on wet breaks 3. We get to watch live Science Webinars. I can’t believe I know multiplication even though I’m only nine! And that’s just the start… there could be waaayyy more fun things ahead. Bye!!!

I can’t believe I know how to do multiplication and know what a polygon is and I love doing the exercising breaks and playing Crocodile Crocodile and I love doing Art and I love watching movies.

Hi my name is Davin Carrigy. I am in 3rd class. My teacher is Ms. Maher. There are 20 kids in my class. I have lots of great friends in my class. At break some of us play football. On Wednesday we go to draughts club with Mrs. Murphy. This is great fun. We are practicing for Community Games.

I really like that I learned my times tables and we are learning 3D Shapes now. On Friday we got to bring board games in. We are practicing dances and songs for the Christmas Concert – Cotton-eyed Joe and This Is Me (from The Greatest Showman. My favourite thing to do in 3rd class is going for movement breaks outside on the new Astro. I love when we get to learn and we get to watch Meet the Scientist live webinars.

I love third class because of my fabulous teacher and friends. And I love it when we bring in boardgames. They are my favourite days. My favourite part of every day is going outside for movement breaks in the morning and afternoon. I am so excited for the Christmas Concert. We are doing Cotton-eyed Joe and This Is Me. I can’t believe I know how to do multiplication and soon I will know division.

I like third class because we have a brilliant teacher. I can’t believe I know how to do my multiplication sums so quickly. I can count in 7s, 8s and 6s too. I can’t believe I know how to do division quickly too! I can’t believe I know most of the flags in the world. I can’t believe I found a special mushroom on our walk on the Ballinalee Walkway. I can’t believe I learned about prisms and pyramids.

I love Third Class because I have a nice teacher
and nice friends. I can’t believe that we nearly know all of the times tables in four months! I love going outside for fresh air in the mornings and afternoons. Also I can’t wait for the Christmas Concert. We are dancing and singing to This Is Me and Cotton-Eye Joe.

Hi my name is Zane. I am the new pupil. I love that we can go outside for 5 minutes in the mornings and play group games in the afternoon at 2pm. I couldn’t believe that I learned x8 multiplication tables and x4. X2 was easy because I learned it from my Tables Champion and Ms. Maher told me some tricks to make multiplication so much easier. What I love most about third class is Art and breaktimes, my friends and reading. In Art we made Christmas trees. We cut out triangles and decorated them. During break I play football with my friends. This is great fun. I have a lot of friends in third class. So far this year I have read a lot of books. My favourite authors are Jeff Kinney and David Walliams. I also have a really nice teacher called Ms. Maher.

My teacher because she is kind to us and she brings us outside in the morning and in the afternoon for P.E. which is super fun. I can’t believe I know how to do beautiful writing in 3rd class. I am super happy. Merry Christmas.

I like 3rd class because we get to do new subjects like French. We also get to learn things like multiplication and division. Another thing that I like about being in 3rd class is that we get to do 2 movement breaks per day which is fun! Ms. Maher lets us bring in our own games for boardgame days. It is nice to get to play each-others games!

I love 3rd class because in 3rd class with Ms. Maher you get to go outside in the morning and afternoon. I can’t believe I can do multiplication now and we are soon going to learn division. This year for our school Christmas performance we sang and danced to This Is Me and Cotton-eyed Joe. I like boardgame days and I like days when we make Lego sets as well.
